WonderWoman89 Just starting out on his sentence...I've decided to try and continue this relationship in the hopes that his parole will be sooner rather than later. I'm currently trying to begin to forgive him for the death of my good friend. The car crash and this resulting relationship is the hardest situation I hope to ever endure. I don't know how you ladies do it. How do you know how much time they will actually serve? How do you deal with the strict visitation rules and the lack of possibility of being transferred to a place with less strict visitation rules? How do you know the relationship will be the same when he gets out? These are my current questions I'm trying to answer.

WonderWoman89 He's already been sentenced - he plead guilty to avoid going to trial and getting the maximum sentence for homicide. I'm not sure when he will get parole because the person at the prison said he would have his first hearing in 2020 when the judge said 6-7 years. I'm not sure which is correct.

Bee Hey hun, You're an amazing person for finding the power to forgive. We all have the power in us. You're healing from so much more and time is your best friend right now. Give yourself time, go with what feels right, lead with your mind-not your heart. And mind over matter. You'll get through this! I wouldn't google any time comparisons, his court date and trial is the only way you'll know how much time he's gona have. The strict visitation rules are overcome when you see him. We don't know how the relationship will be when they're home, nobody does. Don't worry about the "what if's". Take it a day at a time or an hour at a time if you need to. Stay positive.

Admin JoJo Matthews One day at a time like the others said. Visitation rules unfortunately some are hard to wrap your head around trust me it's ridiculous where I go too. However these rules are in place and it's our responsibility to follow them strict or not. We don't get to choose where they go so we are subject to whatever the facility has in place. You will find inconsistencies where ever he is. My advice when it comes to dealing with the system is patience and choose your battles wisely. We can gripe all we want about rules but they aren't going to change them because we do. Know you aren't alone on the journey we are all here to listen and support and encourage when needed.
