JennySue Hello. I'm new here. My fiancé just got 30 months and is currently at Northwest Florida Reception Center. I haven't heard from him in a week. I put money on his phone account but I don't know how to get my phone number approved. I filled out a visitation form but I am in Keystone Heights and the prison is 277 miles (4 hours) away. Our truck is broke down (needs a new transmission) so I don't know if I will get to see him anytime soon. I'm hoping after he gets processed they will move him closer to us again. I do have a question: there is a warrant in Georgia for an arrest from July 2014 (possession of firearm) he bonded out back then, they told him they were dropping charges, then they had a hearing March 2017 we didn't know about, now they have a warrant. The statute of limitations is 5 years, will that run while he is incarcerated or will they extradite him?

Island Girl I can tell you that Statite of Limitations are pretty cut & dry. There are no "holds" or "extensions" on them. But when the statute actually starts ticking is another story. It is best that you consult with a lawyer on it. Good luck!

Island Girl As far as getting your # approved, that comes from his end. He will have to put #'s he wants on his approved list & they will advise him if they're approved or not. As for the visitation form, you can call the prison & find out who his counselor or case manager is (I know state vs federal differ) & their contact info. I would get a ahead start that way so you can send in the form now. Keep in mind that every prison is different but i always tried to get info contacting the prison differently before even hearing from my husband to try to get things in motion sooner than later. Good luck!
